SUMMARY
Two months into the pilot program testing third-party Geospatial content within Google Maps, Google had launched 35 AR contents across 50 points of interest In Paris and Singapore, reaching 30,000 monthly active users.
PROPOSAL
Based on findings, it was suggested to make the following adjustments for the remainder of the pilot program:
• Easier Content Access: Reduce friction and steps before showing the content
• More Helpful: Improve existing content and create new, more useful content
• Improve Retention: Help users find more content, and increase the content density in existing launched Singapore and Paris neighborhoods.
OUTCOMES
While the feature hasn't officially launched yet, intercept studies + user testing as yielded great and positive results that aligned with our hypotheses.
IN-DEPTH PROCESS
Now we will dive into the intricacies and steps that I took to reach the results stated above.
In order to obtain a more profound understanding of the authentication process, I partnered closely with a product architect over an extended period of time. Jointly, we carefully dissected and described the inner mechanisms of our technology stack, probing how it efficiently interacts across diverse domains. This detailed examination enabled us to grasp the complex particulars that drive our authentication system.
Everything positioned above the “Toyota App” mention is what the end-user would encounter.
The diagram displayed above illustrates the architecture between Toyota Financial Services and Toyota Motors North America. It showcases four distinct abstraction layers from the APIs to the user's visual interface. Understanding this was key in shaping the design and user experience.
And so, once I established the visual architecture for the experience and interaction flow, I proceeded with the design phase, ensuring consistency with the original architecture.
USER TESTING
To test against any assumptions or biases that may have been materialized.
